🍃 Tea Quality & Certification

What does "EU Organic Certification" mean?

EU Organic Certification means our tea meets the rigorous organic and safety standards set by the European Union. This includes zero pesticide residue testing, heavy metal content within safe limits, compliance with EU organic farming regulations, and regular third-party laboratory testing. This certification ensures you're getting the safest, highest quality organic tea possible.

Is your tea organic?

Yes! Our tea holds both EU Organic Certification and China Green Food Certification. We grow our tea using traditional, environmentally-friendly methods in high mountain gardens (800-1200m elevation) with zero pesticide residue. These certifications guarantee that our tea meets the highest international standards for organic farming, safety, and purity. We're committed to sustainable farming practices that protect both the environment and tea quality.

How fresh is your tea and what's the shelf life?

We source tea directly from our family's high mountain gardens and ship within weeks of harvest. Each package includes the production date. Shelf life varies by tea type:

Green Tea: 18-month shelf life; best consumed within 12 months for optimal freshness and flavor
Black Tea: 36-month shelf life; best consumed within 24 months
Oolong Tea: 24-month shelf life; best consumed within 18 months
White Tea: Improves with age when stored properly; can be enjoyed for years
Pu-erh Tea: Improves with age; can be stored and enjoyed for many years

All shelf life periods assume proper storage in a cool, dry place away from light and strong odors.

Where does your tea come from?

All our teas come from our family's high mountain tea gardens in China's Daba Mountains, at elevations between 800-1200 meters (2,600-3,900 feet). The cool nights, warm days, and mineral-rich selenium soil at these elevations create teas with exceptional depth and complexity. We work directly with tea farmers who have been cultivating tea for three generations.

🫖 Brewing & Storage

How do I brew your tea?

Each tea variety has specific brewing instructions on its product page. General guidelines by tea type:

Green Tea: 75-85°C (167-185°F) | 3g per 200ml | 1-2 minutes | 3-4 infusions
Black Tea: 90-95°C (194-203°F) | 3-5g per 200ml | 3-5 minutes | 2-3 infusions
Oolong Tea: 90-95°C (194-203°F) | 5g per 200ml | 30s-1min first steep, +15s each after | 5-7 infusions
White Tea: 80-85°C (176-185°F) | 3-5g per 200ml | 2-3 minutes | 3-5 infusions
Pu-erh Tea: 95-100°C (203-212°F) | 5g per 200ml | 30s first steep, +10s each after | 8-10 infusions

Pro tip: Use filtered water and adjust steeping time to your taste preference.

How should I store my tea?

Keep tea in its original sealed bag or an airtight container. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat, and strong odors. Green tea is most sensitive to light and air - consider refrigeration for long-term storage. Pu-erh and white tea can be stored at room temperature and will develop more complex flavors over time.

How much caffeine is in your tea?

Caffeine content varies by tea type (per 200ml cup):

Green Tea: 20-30mg
Black Tea: 40-60mg
Oolong Tea: 30-50mg
White Tea: 15-30mg
Pu-erh Tea: 30-70mg

For comparison, coffee contains 80-100mg per cup. Caffeine levels vary based on brewing time, water temperature, and amount of tea used. Longer steeping and hotter water extract more caffeine.

ℹ️ About Our Tea

What makes high mountain tea special?

Tea grown at 800-1200m elevation benefits from slower growth (more complex flavors and higher amino acid content), mineral-rich selenium soil (unique terroir and health benefits), morning mist (ideal moisture without excess water), cooler temperatures (less pest pressure, reducing need for pesticides), and clean air (purer tea). The result is greater depth, complexity, natural sweetness, and smoother taste compared to lowland teas.

What's the difference between your tea and supermarket tea?

We source whole leaf tea from our family's high mountain gardens (not broken leaves or dust), ship within weeks of harvest (not months or years in warehouses), hold EU Organic Certification and China Green Food Certification with zero pesticide residue, offer complex flavor that can be steeped multiple times (3-10 infusions depending on tea type), and guarantee full traceability from our garden to your cup. Supermarket tea bags typically contain lower-grade broken leaves that lose flavor quickly and can only be steeped once.
